ABOUT EVIDENS: PORTER CASK
The Evidens series was created to demonstrate that a lower cask filling strength of 55% ABV can result in a deeper and more complex whisky. Evidens: Porter Cask is matured in Imperial Stout casks previously used for the renowned Stormaktsporter from Närke Kulturbryggeri, imparting rich and distinctive porter notes to the spirit. To balance this bold character, we have combined it with peated whisky matured in new oak casks. Discover what happens when the worlds of whisky and craft beer collide.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
A powerful meeting of smoke and porter. Deep notes of dark chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt are joined by subtle hints of peat smoke and vanilla. A gentle oak character lingers in the background, like a forest fire after the rain.
TASTE
A complex spectrum of flavours where smoky whisky and robust porter come together in perfect harmony. Rich notes of chocolate, coffee, and caramel create a smooth sweetness, balanced by spicy oak and a subtle touch of salinity. The finish is long and lingering, with a gentle smokiness that remains like a crisp autumn evening by the fireside.
